SHETLANDS - EXCELLENT RIDING FOR CHILDREN

The Shetland pony’s temperament is superb for riding.

Their docile nature and small size is ideal for a child’s first pony for riding and showing and they can hold their own amongst much larger ponies. They have high intelligence and courageous disposition and for their small size they are the strongest of all the horse breeds.

One of the main objectives for the Wetherston Shetlands is to provide the ideal riding pony for children. Our aim is to breed good straight Shetland ponies for children’s riding and showing.

All our mares and youngstock are good tempered and handled every day and are used to children.
